Everton and Tottenham look set to battle it out as they attempt to sign Barcelona wonderkid Gerard Deulofeu on loan according to reports emanating from Spain.

The La Liga champions have high hopes for the Spanish Under 20 international, but having seen the arrival of Neymar this summer bump him down the pecking order, he is prepared to go out on loan in search of regular football.

The winger is also believed to be attracting attention from Liverpool and Arsenal, though the Toffees and Spurs have emerged as leading candidates to land him.

The youngster is currently at the Under 20 World Cup in Turkey, and he scored twice in their opening 4-1 win over the USA.

The hot prospect scored 18 goals in 33 games for Barcelona ‘B’ team in the Segunda Division last season, and he also went on to make his debut for the first-team side in the 5-0 victory over Real Mallorca.
