Manchester United already knew they had a number of musical followers. The Stone Roses, Mick Hucknall and Justin Timberlake are among those who follow the Red Devils.

And now they have another to add to the Old Trafford Supporters Hall of Fame - Vanilla Ice.

The Ice, Ice Baby singer unmasked his colours by taking part in Manchester United's competition seeking a winner for Goal of the Season.

The American rapper, whose real name is Roberto Matthew Van Winkle, voted for Juan Mata.

Tweeting to his 239,000 followers, he wrote: "I voted Mata in the Goal of the Season poll."

The Mata goal came in the 2-1 win over arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield in March. Vanilla Ice's pick saw him snub Angel Di Maria's lobbed effort against Leicester, Wayne Rooney's strike against Aston Villa and the FA Cup goal scored by Ander Herrera against Yeovil.

Vanilla Ice wasn't the only famous person to take part. Keen football fan and Countdown co-presenter Rachel Riley cast her vote too.

The winners will be announced tonight.
