Watch Minnesota keeper Sammy Ndjock concede what could be the worst own goal of the decade

Not his finest hour...

It was a night to forget for goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock who conceded an absolute howler of an own goal in Minnesota United’s friendly against Bournemouth.

The American side welcomed the Cherries to the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota, but struggled against a confident Bournemouth outfit.

The visitors took the lead through the returning Callum Wilson in the 24th minute before Ndjock’s sudden lapse in judgment handed the Premier League club a second goal.

The freak nature of it caught everyone by surprise as the Cameroon international threw the ball into his own net.

Having attempted to start a counter-attack with a quick throw from his six-yard box, the keeper appeared to change his mind at the last second. The ball subsequently slipped out of his hand and flew straight into the bottom corner of the Minnesota goal.

Bournemouth went on to secure a 4-0 victory with further goals from Wilson and Lewis Grabban but it’s Ndjock who has caught all the headlines.
