When is the earliest Liverpool can WIN the Premier League title?

Manchester City may have defeated West Brom 3-1 on Monday to go six points behind Liverpool with a game in hand, but, with three matches remaining for the Reds, starting with Chelsea on Sunday, when is the earliest Liverpool can lift the Premier League title?

Should Brendan Rodgers' side beat the Blues at Anfield on Sunday in the 2.05pm kick-off, and then Manchester City drop points in their following two fixtures, then on Liverpool could secure their first Premier League title without even kicking a ball on the day, on Sunday 4 May.

Liverpool then play on the Monday night, 5 May at Crystal Palace, where they could be given the guard of honour.

The date when the Reds last won the league was on 28 April 1990.

It was on that date that Liverpool, under Kenny Dalglish, clinched their 18th league title after coming back from a goal down to defeat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 at home in the old Division One. Their rivals for the title Aston Villa drew 3-3 with Norwich, giving the Reds an unassailable four point lead a the top with only one match remaining for Villa.
