Chelsea have been made to wait to lift the Premier League trophy despite winning the division with three games to spare last weekend.

Jose Mourinho led the club to their fifth title with a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday, but despite jubilant celebrations among the players at Stamford Bridge, the trophy wasn't present.

The Premier League has decided that Chelsea will have to wait until the final day of the season to lift the trophy, when the Blues play Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on 24 May.

Chelsea have another home game against Liverpool this coming weekend, where the Reds are expected to give their rivals a 'guard of honour' when they walk onto the pitch.
