Manchester United supporters have urged Louis van Gaal to promote Will Keane to the first-team after he scored five for the Under-21s against Norwich City.

The 23-year-old

The 23-year-old now has 10 goals in six matches since returning to Old Trafford after an unsuccessful loan spell at Preston North End.

While on loan at Deepdale this season Keane managed to score just two goals in 22 matches for Simon Grayson's side, before he was recalled by Louis van Gaal early from his season-long loan on 1 January.

Memphis Depay also played in the 7-0 victory over Norwich City, the £25million signing setting up two goals in the win.

Keane has only played six minutes of first-team football for Manchester United.

That came in a late substitutes appearance back in December 2011 - Sir Alex Ferguson brought the striker on against Blackburn Rovers with United trailing in an eventual 3-2 loss at Old Trafford.

Keane's impressive form for the U21s has prompted United fans to urge Van Gaal to promote the striker.

With only Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial recognised strikers in the squad, Keane, who was included in the 25-man squad for the Europa League, is the next option.

Some fans are even comparing Keane to Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, who was similarly average on loan before his big breakthrough last season.

There was one negative for Manchester United, however, as Adnan Januzaj limped off with a hamstring problem
