Zlatan Ibrahimovic has never been shy of pulling the trigger, but he has never got in trouble for it in the past.
The temperamental Swede will appear before a French league disciplinary panel later this month for appearing to make a gun gesture in the direction of the Toulouse bench last weekend during Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 home victory.
The striker was taken off in the second half soon after an altercation with Toulouse defender Abel Aguilar on the pitch.
As he left the field, Ibrahimovic then seemed to use his fingers to mimic pointing a gun in the direction of Jonathan Zebina, who was an unused substitute on the Toulouse bench. The pair do have some history – when they were team-mates at Juventus they reportedly got into a brawl in training which featured Ibrahimovic being allegedly head-butted by the Frenchman before replying with a punch, an incident which Zebina has recently played down, saying the real story was magnified to help sell Ibrahimovic’s autobiography, I Am Zlatan.
"It's better to say 'I caught him with a good right and he fell to the ground' than 'my fingernail brushed his eye," Zebina claimed.
Toulouse manager Alain Casanova spoke of his disappointment with Ibrahimovic over his apparent actions last weekend.
"They're not gestures that I like or appreciate on a football pitch," Casanova said.
"Afterwards it's difficult for the amateur world to explain to children that you shouldn't do these kind of things.
"I'm convinced that, seeing these images again, even he must regret this gesture."
