SPL agrees on merger deal
Scottish Premier League clubs have unanimously agreed on new measures that would deliver a merged governing body in time for next season.
The new body would oversee the 12-10-10-10 divisional structure currently in place. The SPL plans, which would introduce play-offs involving the team finishing 11th and the second, third and fourth-place teams in the league below, have to be approved by the Scottish FA.
