Chelsea transfer news: Blues target Alexandre Lacazette linked with £20m West Ham move

West Ham United are reportedly plotting an audacious move to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after Newcastle failed with a late bid in January.

The 24-year-old, also linked with Chelsea, has scored 64 goals in 165 appearances for the Ligue 1 club helping him to become one of the most keenly coveted talents in European football.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Hammers would be prepared to part with as much as £20m in the summer as they continue plans to move into the Olympic Stadium this summer.

Lacazette is thought to have snubbed Newcastle in the winter transfer window because they could not offer Champions League football meaning Slaven Bilic’s side must surely continue their excellent form to secure a top four spot if they are to succeed.

Speaking last summer, the France international said: “Yes, I am thinking about it and the Premier League is very attractive for a player.

“But I know that to go there I have to do well this season. So I am very concentrated on doing well and maybe, after that, I will go there.

“So I know that it is possible that I will move to the Premier League and Lyon are aware of that also.

“There is no formal agreement that I will go but the president [Jean-Michel Aulas] knows that it’s a possibility that I will leave Lyon at the end of the season.”
