Real Madrid are preparing to make a £21m bid for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny to replace Sergio Ramos, according to reports.
Ramos has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, as his negotiations over a new contract have broken down.
United have made an opening bid of £30m for Ramos, as exclusively reported by The Independent last night.
The Spanish international Ramos has two years left on his deal with the La Liga giants.
Koscielny put pen to paper on a new contract with the Gunners last year. He signed for the club from Lorient in 2010, and has since turned into one of the best defenders in Europe.
