Arsenal say no offers received for Robin van Persie

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has said that no club has made an offer for Robin van Persie and has repeated that the Dutchman is not for sale.

There has been huge interest in the striker this summer who finished top of the Premier League’s scoring charts last season.

With only 12 months left to run on his contract the Gunners have still not entered into talks about extending it because the striker is on holiday after Euro 2012.

There was much speculation surrounding a potential move to Manchester City earlier this summer, but those rumours have cooled and the latest team to be launching a bid is reportedly Italian champions Juventus.

With Real Madrid and Barcelona also keeping tabs on Van Persie, Arsenal fans will be keen to nail their star man down to a new contract quickly.

However, Hill-Wood is not nervous about losing the man who at times dragged his side through last season’s Premier League campaign and insists the club do not want to sell him.

"As far as I am aware nobody has made any offer for him and he is away so we are not in any dialogue at all," said Hill-Wood.

"We're not in the remotest bit interested in selling him."

Reports suggest that Van Persie will speak to Wenger by phone this week in an attempt to sort out his future.
