Summer transfer window 2018: Latest Premier League deals and rumours round-up

Stephan Lichtsteiner has admitted he is in talks with Arsenal over a move to the Emirates this summer but insists nothing is confirmed yet.

Unai Emery wants to bring the Swiss international in as his first summer signing, with his contract expiring at Juventus next month after seven years at the Serie A champions.

The 34-year-old is getting ready for the World Cup 2018, where he will captain Switzerland, and therefore does not want negotiations to disrupt his preparations for the tournament.

And Lichtsteiner revealed that while talks about his future are still ongoing, it is too early to say that anything has actually been agreed.

“Nothing is finished yet,” he said. “I cannot comment on the negotiations.

“As long as nothing is completed, that is always interesting in football. I think we all know that.”

Lichtsteiner is just the first of two potential new signings that could arrive on a free transfer next month, with reports suggesting Marouane Fellaini has been holding talks with the club ahead of the expiration of his contract with Manchester United.
