Oscar: Chelsea reject £57.5m bid from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning - reports

Chelsea have reportedly rejected a stunning £57.5m bid for Brazilian midfielder Oscar from China Super League club Jiangsu Suning.

The Far East outfit are expected to return for the Blues ace in the summer and are also said to be keen on signing Manchester City’s Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure. According to the Sun, Jiangsu have not finished their sensational spending spree after securing Oscar’s former Chelsea team-mate Ramires for £25m and then beating Liverpool to the £38.4m capture of Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 26-year-old was widely expected to join up with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield in the summer but the Reds have paid the price for refusing to meet the Ukrainian club’s valuation. Premier League champions Chelsea also showed an interest in taking Teixeira to the Premier League.

Jiangsu, based on the east coast of China, are managed by the former Blues and Southampton winger Dan Petrescu and have showcased their willingness to spend big, twice breaking the Chinese transfer record.

Their move for Teixeira is the third occasion in ten days in which the country’s record has been broken. Martinez’s £31m switch to Guangzhou Evergrande, managed by former Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, eclipsed the Ramires deal but Teixeria’s move to Asia was confirmed on Friday morning.

They join former Arsenal man Gervinho, who signed for Hebei China Fortune from Roma for £13.8m, and Colombian international Fredy Guarin, who moved from Inter Milan to Shanghai Shenhua for £10m.
