A bizarre and incredibly unlikely move has been mooted that could see the Premier League's top scorer arrive at Chelsea in the next couple of days. The Mirror claim that a deal that would see Leicester striker Jamie Vardy come to Stamford Bridge is in the offing, with Loic Remy going the other way as part of a part-exchange. Top-of-the-table Leicester have persistently insisted that they will not sell Vardy during the current transfer window.

Alexandre Pato is expected to complete his move to Chelsea, possibly as early as today. The former AC Milan striker landed in London yesterday where he was greeted by Sky Sports who he told: "Chelsea is my new home". The 26-year-old Brazil international has been playing at Corinthians, who have sanctioned a loan move for the forward.

Real Madrid have been contacted regarding Dani Carvajal, with Chelsea keen to find out if the Spain international is available, so say Spanish publication Fichajes. The 24-year-old defender only signed a five-year deal last July but his role under new Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane is uncertain. It's a situation Chelsea hope they can take advantage of, apparently.

Gary Cahill could be set to leave Stamford Bridge, just a month after signing a new contract at Chelsea. The centre-back is apparently concerned about his lack of game time under interim manager Guus Hiddink and with Euro 2016 on the horizon, is desperate to be playing. Whether the Blues would sanction such a move is unclear, particular with a lack of additional cover should injuries strike. Cahill has played 12 times in the Premier League this season.

Any hopes of signing Robert Lewandowski look to be over for Chelsea. The Independent understands that the Bayern Munich striker, who has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, wants to join Real Madrid once the Spanish club’s transfer embargo is lifted at the end of the 2016/17 season. This publication's chief football writer Mark Ogden says: "Lewandowski, who signed a five-year contract at Bayern after leaving Borussia Dortmund as a free agent in July 2014, is understood to be keen to pursue a new challenge outside the Bundesliga after winning every major honour in Germany since arriving from Lech Poznan in 2010."
