David De Gea continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid in the Spanish press this morning.

The 24-year-old has not played in three matches this season for Manchester United because manager Louis van Gaal believes the transfer speculation is distracting him.

De Gea has again been linked with a move to the Bernabeu in Spain's two biggest sports newspapers this morning, despite various reports over the last few weeks stating that they would be prepared to wait until next summer when the goalkeeper is a free agent.

Marca report that Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno has hinted at a move for De Gea this summer because he refused to rule out any further moves despite stating that Rafael Benitez had an "outstanding squad" at the presentation of new signing Mateo Kovacic.

"The transfer window is open until 31 August," said Butragueno.

In rival newspaper AS, it is reported that 'super agent' Jorge Mendes is in Manchester to negotiate a deal for his client, although that could also be because he is in the city to finalise a deal for another one of his clients, Nicolas Otamendi.

The Valencia defender is close to a move to Manchester City.

It has previously been reported that De Gea could 'sack' Mendes if he does not secure him a move to Real Madrid.
