Everton remain confident they will sign Romelu Lukaku this summer, with Roberto Martinez telling fans: "Of course we'll get him".

The future of the Belgium international has remained uncertain since his loan spell at Goodison Park ended last season.

The 21-year-old may yet remain at parent club Chelsea next season, however the arrival of Diego Costa and return of Didier Drogba to Stamford Bridge has led to an expectancy that he will depart.

Everton have made little secret of their desire to see Lukaku playing at Goodison Park next term following a season in which he scored 15 goals in 31 Premier League appearances. It was when questioned by a fan during Everton's trip to Thailand that Martinez revealed his optimism.

Ian Atkins, Everton's head of recruitment, echoed those sentiments on Saturday evening when he told talkSPORT: "Hopefully things can be sorted out, I think he’s quite settled in his mind that he wants to come to Everton, and hopefully he’ll be pulling on our blue shirt again next term."

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have also been linked with a move for Lukaku, and perhaps more surprisingly, so have Real Madrid.
