Premier League duo Leicester City and Sunderland have joined Swansea in the race to sign highly-rated Polish winger Maciej Rybus.

The 25-year-old plays for Terek Grozny in the Russian Premier League and, following a rich vein of form for his club, has earned 32 caps for his country.

Hull City are also believed to be interested in Rybus, but Swansea remain favourites to land his signature this summer after tracking the player for the last 12 months.

Both Steve Bruce and former Black Cats manager Gus Poyet have sent scouts to watch the Poland international in action while Leicester are making plans should they lose Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerian winger has been in fine form for the Foxes as Nigel Pearson's men continue to climb out of danger, but interest from Villarreal CF may tempt him away from the King Power Stadium.

Rybus will enter the final 12 months of his contract next season, which features a €3.2m (£2.4m) buyout clause.

The former Legia Warsaw man is unlikely to leave Russia for a club in the second tier of English football which means Hull, Sunderland and Leicester must first preserve their Premier League status.
