The advice of former midfielder Xabi Alonso has been sought before an £18m offer is made for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi. Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing the 24-year-old to Anfield but wants the view of his former team-mate before firming up that interest according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.

Rickie Lambert continues to be linked with an exit from Anfield. With Daniel Sturridge returning to fitness it's thought Brendan Rodgers may now be willing to let the England striker go out on loan. Crystal Palace and Hull are among the interested clubs, according to the Sunday People.

Yevhen Konoplyanka is highly rated and the good news for Liverpool is he's keen on a move to Anfield (or possibly Tottenham). According to the Sunday Express the Dnipro winger has turned down a move to Roma in order to secure a deal to the Premier League.

The possibility of Fabio Coentrao coming to the Premier League rumbles on. The Real Madrid defender has been linked with a switch to England for the past few windows and according to the Daily Star the European champions are keen to offload him. Manchester United had been interested but have now turned their attention elsewhere leading Madrid to offer the Portugal international to Liverpool (and Arsenal). However according to the report Liverpool aren't interested.
