Loic Remy looks set to leave Queens Park Rangers this summer after manager Harry Redknapp admitted the striker has a release clause in his contract and wants to test himself in the Champions League.
Despite winning promotion back to the Premier League on Saturday via the 1-0 Championship play-off final victory over Derby County, Remy is likely to leave Rangers having spent the last season on loan at Newcastle.
The Frenchman, who scored 14 goals in 26 appearances for the Magpies last term, has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool , and Redknapp has accepted that it is unlikely that Remy will play in the QPR shirt again.

That is unlikely to be an issue as there should be no shortage of clubs looking for a defender of his experience. Since he was entrusted with a role as a withdrawn striker by Tony Pulis in December, he has been excellent, scoring five goals and helping to drag Palace out of the relegation zone and into safety. Chamakh will be discussing his future with the club soon but he said last week that agreeing a new deal at Palace was his “priority”, after building an excellent rapport with the fans and playing his best football since his arrival in England from France in 2010. If not, he would like to stay in the Premier League.

However, the Champions League winner will still have a number of clubs interested in his services, with Arsenal being linked in recent weeks.

The Dane has scored twice this year, in wins over Hull and Cardiff, but he fell behind Yaya Sanogo in the pecking order while not always conducting himself immaculately off the pitch. He turned down moves away from Arsenal last summer that would have meant pay cuts but this summer he must be hopeful of maximising his value as a free agent.

“I don't see (Loic) Remy wanting to come back and play,” said Redknapp. “He's talking about playing Champions League somewhere.
“I wouldn't know what he'll do, but I think he's got a buy-out clause which is at a reasonable level.
“Not much more than we paid for him.”
Redknapp signed Remy last year QPR signed Remy in January 2013 for £8m on a four-and-a-half year contract, but his six goals that season were not enough to keep QPR afloat in the Premier League as they suffered relegation in 2012-13.
However, Redknapp has guided them back to the top flight at the first attempt, with Bobby Zamora scoring a dramatic late winner at Wembley to send QPR fans into celebration.
