Loic Remy alerts Premier League clubs ahead of January transfer window after Las Palmas decide to sell striker

Former Chelsea, Newcastle and QPR striker is also wanted in China and France but favours a move back to the Premier League

Loic Remy could be set for a Premier League return after Las Palmas decided the former France international could leave.

Paco Jemez, who recently returned to the club he managed from 2010-2011, told a press conference on Thursday that he would be asking Las Palmas’ board to find new clubs for Remy and teammate Oussama Tanane after the pair missed training having arrived late the day before.

Remy enjoyed success at QPR and Newcastle before joining Chelsea, where he served mainly as a back-up.

Injury wrecked his loan spell with Crystal Palace last year before Remy chose to move to La Liga and the Canary Islands.

But many players struggle to adapt to island life. Kevin-Prince Boateng abruptly had his contract cancelled by Las Palmas recently and now Remy has been made an example of by disciplinarian and proud Canarian Jemez.

“From now on, if one of my players commits an act deemed improper or indisciplined, the club must act in consequence or I will resign,” warned the 47-year-old coach.

Remy scored five goals in 13 appearances, six of which came from the bench.

The French forward is attracting interest from Ligue 1 and China but is expected to prioritise a return to the Premier League, where much of the bottom half is searching for a striker this month.
