FRENCHMAN INBOUND…

Paul Pogba remains one of the most talked about players linked with a transfer this month even though Juventus have said they will not be selling the young French midfielder.

Pogba has lit up the Serie A since his arrival in 2012, but his impressive form has resulted in strong links to other leading clubs around Europe, including Manchester City. With fears over Yaya Toure’s future, the Daily Express reports that City will make Pogba their prime target in the summer, and could launch a bid of £78m for the 21-year-old, who admits that he could leave Juventus within the next year.

HEADING FOR THE EXIT…

Pogba’s arrival would be a direct results of Toure’s departure, and the same report in the Daily Express claims that Paris St-Germain are looking to beat Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool to the Ivorian’s signature. Toure has continuously refused to commit his future to the reigning Premier League champions, with the infamous birthday cake incident highlighting his delicate position at the Etihad. It’s claimed that PSG will launch a £20m bid in the summer to land the midfielder, who will turn 32 in May.

Fulham have announced that midfielder Seko Fofana will remain on loan with them from City until the end of the season. The 19-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Cottagers since arriving on a short-term deal in November, and he admitted he is enjoying his stay in West London.

He told the Championship club’s official website: “I’m delighted to be prolonging my stay at Fulham and I want to continue to help the team win as many games as possible. I have enjoyed my time here so much and gained a lot of experience of playing first team football in the Championship. I thank Manchester City for allowing me to extend my stay here and Kit Symons who has shown a lot of faith in me.

“I also would like to thank my teammates who have made my integration into the First Team easier and our supporters who have shown me a lot of affection since I joined.”
