Gareth Bale could be on his way out of Real Madrid after falling out with both manager Zinedine Zidane and president Florentino Perez, according to reports in Spain.

The former Tottenham winger is said to be upset with the pair after promises made to him last season by Perez have not been followed up this term.

Perez promised he would give Bale a new contract in the same wage bracket as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo but so far no talks have taken place.

Similarly, he was told he would become the focal point of the team and usurp his Portuguese teammate as Real Madrid’s leader.

However, when Madrid saw their 16-game winning streak end with the 1-1 draw against Villarreal, Bale was reportedly unimpressed that he was the first person to be replaced by Zidane, despite the Welshman feeling he had done more to remain on the pitch than either Ronaldo or Karim Benzema.

Bale vs Ronaldo - who will come out on top?

Spanish outlet GOL claim Bale has become uncomfortable in Madrid and is growing tired of being sacrificed when the team are chasing a goal.

The reports also suggest Bale and Ronaldo had an on-field argument after Bale failed to pass to the former Manchester United star after which the pair refused to look at each other in the eyes.

Manchester United is allegedly Bale’s preferred destination should he leave the Spanish capital. The Old Trafford club were willing to pay more than £100m for him before he signed for Madrid in 2013.
