Louis van Gaal is considering a move for Netherlands utility man Daley Blind.
The 24-year-old is expected to leave Ajax after it emerged he has been training away from the first team since returning from the World Cup.
Van Gaal is a keen admirer of Blind who played all seven of the Netherlands' games in Brazil, proving his versatility by playing as a wing back, centre-back, left-back and as a holding midfielder.
With Van Gaal likely to implement his 3-5-2 at Old Trafford, Blind would be able to fill a number of positions.
Ajax youth coach Richard Witschge hinted Blind's exit could be close.
"I think Daley Blind will be leaving soon. I have a feeling," he told Heldenonline.
