Manchester United flop Radamel Falcao could be set for a return to River Plate, but the Argentine club admit a deal is complicated.

The Colombia international spent eight years with River before leaving for Porto in 2009.

Vice president Matias Patanian told Esto es River program: "We dream of Falcao Garcia. The doors are open."

The 29-year-old has endured a torrid season while on loan at Old Trafford this term - scoring just four Premier League goals - and it remains to be seen whether United will allow him to return to parent club Monaco.

Meanwhile Falcao has been in impressive goalscoring form for his country in recent weeks, finding the net three times in two games to equal Colombia’s all-time goalscoring record with 24 goals.

Joining River Plate at the age of 15 in 2001, Falcao went on to score 34 goals in 90 appearances for the Primera Division giants.

The former Atletico striker has been linked with Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain of late, but his future remains uncertain.
