Pressure is continuing to build on Manchester United to secure their second signing of the transfer window with preseason lurking just around the corner.
United’s acquisition of Daniel James stands as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s only new signing despite his pleas with the club to do business early.
There have been countless players linked with moves to Old Trafford with the club desperate to adopt a successful transfer policy after a disappointing couple of years in the market.
There is also the question of departures too. United are burdened with the massive wages Alexis Sanchez carries and Paul Pogba’s desire to leave for a new challenge.

Aaron Wan Bissaka has been linked with a move to United for a long time during this summer window and the club are slowly to feel confident that a deal for the Crystal Palace defender can be reached.
Palace are looking for around £50m up front and would like United to review the clause in Wilfried Zaha’s contract that says they are owed a percentage of the transfer profit Palace make on his next sale, a clause added to the deal when Zaha returned to Palace in 2015.
Talks between the clubs are continuing and a deal is close to being agreed. The right-back is open to a move and will return to England shortly after playing for England Under-21 in Italy.
Bruno Fernandesis another player Solskjaer is very keen to bring to Old Trafford and has, according to reports in Portugal, made a personal plea to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to sign the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.
Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera’s departure mean that United desperately need a central midfielder and they may have to act quickly with other Premier League clubs thought to be interested in Fernandes too.
After missing out on Matthijs de Ligt, it would be a disaster if Manchester United began the new season with Chris Smalling and Phil Jones close to the top order of central defenders. With that, Leicester feel they can ask for a lot of compensation for Harry Maguire.
Leicester are asking for at least £70m from United to take Maguire away from the King Power after he signed a five-year deal in September 2018.
There are also reports that the club may renew their interest in Jadon Sancho, a long-term target for Manchester United. The club are attracted to the winger because he represents two qualities that the club built previous success on: young, exciting, English players.
Dortmund, however, still hold the upper hand and are very unlikely to budge on the £100m valuation.
