Manchester United are 'close' to signing Internacional midfielder Rodrigo Dourado, according to reports.

The 20-year-old has been watched by club scouts, according to the Daily Mail, who have been 'impressed' by what they saw from the youngster; the centre-midfielder has been likened to Michael Carrick.

Internacional, however, do not want to sell until after the club play in the Copa Libertadores next month.

United manager Louis van Gaal, who has seen Memphis Depay arrive this summer, is not concerned at a perceived lack of progress with potential transfers at the club.

Dourado has played 20 games for the club this season and played for the Brazil Under-17 team in 2011.
