Manchester United have submitted an €80m (£61.41m) bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, according to reports in Italy.

Italian newspaper La Stampa, have reported that United have made an official offer to re-sign the Frenchman, who left the club in 2012.

Pogba has recently spoken of his "love" for the Old Trafford club, and his agent Mino Raiola said that he will not stay in Italy for "much longer".

The 21-year-old Pogba has won 22 caps for France, signed for Juventus three years ago when his contract at United expired, having only made seven substitute appearances in total for the club after joining from Le Havre in October 2009.

Then-United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said at the time: "Pogba signed for Juventus a long time ago as far as we're aware. Which is disappointing.

"I don't think he showed us any respect at all so, to be honest, I'm quite happy."
