Mario Balotelli is reluctant to leave Liverpool this summer after it was revealed the Italian is in line to earn a six-figure loyalty bonus if he stays.

The Reds are reportedly willing to pay a considerable amount towards his wages should he leave on loan, with Leicester City and Sampdoria among the bookies' favourites, but it remains unlikely that he will do so.

According to the Daily Mirror, Brendan Rodgers is desperate to offload the 25-year-old, who is training with the development squad.

Balotelli accepted a decrease in wages when he joined from AC Milan last summer, but had a variety of add-ons built into his £70,000-a-week four-year deal at Anfield.

The Italy international suffered a disappointing year back in English football with Liverpool despite it being considered a make-or-break season for the former Manchester City man.

The North West club are now thought to even be considering paying out Balotelli's contract in an attempt to get him off the wage bill but remain hopeful a club will tempt him away, despite his reluctance to leave.
