Morgan Schneiderlin would best serve his career at Manchester United rather than Arsenal or Liverpool, say readers of The Independent.

The Southampton midfielder is on the verge of leaving St Mary's and has been linked with all those clubs, however it's understood that the most likely move is to Old Trafford.

For the France international, that's the best possible option according to readers of this publication.

Asked 'Who should Morgan Schneiderlin join to help his own career?', the poll of nearly 1,000 people saw Manchester United come out as the overwhelming choice.

778 votes, which was 79 per cent of the vote, were in favour of the 25-year-old moving to Old Trafford. 17 per cent backed a switch to Arsenal and just 4 per cent went with Liverpool.

Whilst United are leading the chase for Schneiderlin, they are yet to make a "serious offer" for the midfielder, according to Southampton manager Ronald Koeman. Saints want close to £27m.
