Susana Monje, Barcelona’s financial vice-president, has insisted that Neymar will not be sold, despite the player not yet signing a new contract with the club.

Several members of European football’s elite are said to be interested in the Brazil international, whose current deal expires in 2018.

Neymar has attracted the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Manchester United, who were repeatedly linked with the player last summer.

Monje, however, is confident that the 24-year-old will remain with the club and any salary increase requested by the Brazilian could be afforded.

"The contract renewal of Neymar is a sporting conversation," Monje told Marca. "Economically, the margins have been known for a long time.

“We have not studied the impact of a hypothetical loss of Neymar. We are not contemplating it.”

Neymar reportedly earns £77,000-a-week under the terms of his current contract, which he signed upon his arrival in Catalonia three years ago.

His salary is significantly less than those of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, the two other members of Barcelona’s prolific ‘MSN’ frontline.

Improved terms with the Catalan club would include a substantial pay hike and Monje believes that any demand made by Neymar’s representatives could be matched.

“There's more than enough to have the two or three of the best players in the world and have 11 or 13 other title holders,” she said.

Last September, Neymar admitted that there had been talks between his representatives and United but no substantial offer had been made.

"We had conversations, but there was nothing concrete,” he told ESPN Brazil. "I heard that there were offers but none were made to me."
