Petr Cech is closing in on his move to Arsenal, with the Chelsea goalkeeper undergoing his medical with the Gunners today, ahead of an £11m move which is set to be completed next week.
Personal terms have been agreed with the 33-year-old, who leaves Chelsea after a trophy-laden 11 years at Stamford Bridge.
The 33-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract with Chelsea, but after falling behind Belgian Thibaut Courtois in Jose Mourinho’s pecking order, he was given permission to seek a move to another club.
With his family happily settled in London though, Cech’s options were limited given that only Arsenal and French side Paris Saint-Germain showed genuine interest in him, and the Gunners were always leading the race to sign Cech should the Blues give the green light to strengthen a Premier League rival.

Due to Cech’s 11 years of loyal service to the club since his move from Rennes in 2004, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich personally allowed the goalkeeper to negotiate a move to across London, despite the disbelief of fans that they will oppose Cech next season.
