Radamel Falcao has dropped a major hint that his season-long loan move to Chelsea is nearing completion.

The Monaco striker, who endured a woeful time on loan at Manchester United last season, was asked by reporters following Colombia's 1-0 win over Brazil at the Copa America if he could confirm reports that he is going to Chelsea, to which he replied: "It can be [true]. You will know soon."

Falcao had previously played alongside Diego Costa at Atletico Madrid. In addition, Jose Mourinho and Falcao share the same agent, Jorge Mendes.

It has been reported that Falcao will not be able to command the same £265,000 a week wages at Chelsea, however.

The 29-year-old Falcao said a fortnight ago that he would like to stay in the Premier League, despite scoring only four goals in total in the division for United.

"I would like to continue in the Premier League. My future will be decided in the coming weeks."

Falcao's agent is Jorge Mendes - who also looks after Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
