Raheem Sterling to Juventus? Italian side to sell £75m Paul Pogba to fund deal for Sterling

The forward has reached a contract impasse with the Reds

Italian giants Juventus have joined the race to sign £50m-rated Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

The Sun have reported that Juventus will fund the move by offloading Paul Pogba, who has interested both Chelsea and Manchester United, who he left in 2012. Pogba is rated at £75m.

Sterling faced the wrath of the Liverpool supporters in recent weeks after rejecting a new £100,000 contract with the club, and then going on a unsanctioned interview on the BBC where he justified his stance on not agreeing to a new deal.

Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all reportedly interested in the 20-year-old England international.

Sterling's current £35,000 a week contract at Liverpool runs out in 2017. He joined the club in 2010 and has since scored 23 goals in 122 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.

French midfielder Pogba, meanwhile, has since emerged as one of the brightest prospects in world football since leaving United for Turin.

His agent, Mino Railoa said yesterday that he receives "20 calls a day" for Pogba.

"Since the start of the year, I have received over 2000 phone calls for [Pogba]," Raiola said. "I receive 20 calls a day and at least a few of them are to negotiate, but the right offer has yet to arrive.

"I believe if the right offer comes along for Pogba and for Juve, then the transfer will take place. But the biggest challenge will be for the Bianconeri club to rebuild the team with that money."
