Robert Lewandowski to Manchester United: Agent admits striker will move to 'England or Spain' but says fee will cost more than £35m

United have been linked with a bid for the striker who will move to either 'England or Spain' when he leaves Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski's agent has told Manchester United that it will cost them more than the £35m being touted if they wanted to sign the Bayern Munich striker this summer.

However, he did offer United hope over a move by admitting that his next club will be located in England…or Spain.

The news comes after the Telegraph linked United with an offer for the Poland international in a bid to replace Robin van Persie, who has completed a £4.7m move to Fenerbahce after falling out of favour at Old Trafford.

Speaking on Polish television, Van Persie’s agent Cezary Kucharski stressed that €50m (£35m) would not be enough to persuade Bayern to part with the striker, especially given that the Bavarian club have just agreed to sell midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger to United.

“I think it would have to be a very high offer, definitely higher than €50m.

“Robert is one of the most valued strikers on the market who guarantees goals, guarantees assists, excitement. He has shown that over many years during his career.

“Every year he is an even better player and plays at a higher level and that is very important for other clubs because he has credibility and guarantees at least 30 goals a season.

“With a player of Robert's class, the truth is that not a lot of work is required because really there are only two directions in which he could go in the future, England or Spain, and only with Bayern Munich's acceptance.”

United and Real Madrid were hopeful of signing Lewandowski when he was still a Borussia Dortmund player, but it soon became apparent that a deal was in place for him to complete a free transfer to Bayern last summer after running down his contract at the Signul Iduna Park.

The news is unlikely to surprise many given that Bayern have already stressed that they will not sell two of their players to strengthen a Champions League rival this summer, following United’s interest in fellow striker Thomas Muller earlier this summer.
