Borussia Dortmund have joined the race for Chelsea’s Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for the 21-year-old, who scored 16 goals on loan at Everton this season.

Dortmund are looking for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who has already agreed a switch to Bayern Munich. They are also interested in Torino star Ciro Immobile following a fine campaign in Serie A, where the Italian scored 22 goals.

Chelsea are looking for offers in excess of £20m for Lukaku and hope that a strong showing at the World Cup will increase his value.

Mourinho has secured the long-term future of one of their brightest young prospects, however, after agreeing a three-year contract extension with Nigerian Kenneth Omeruo.

The 20-year-old earned rave reviews at Middlesbrough on loan this term and will be representing his country at the World Cup. Talks had broken down over his salary demands but his agent, Chika Akujobi, confirmed he will now be staying until 2018.

He said: “We have all seen the draft of the improved contract and the boy is happy about it. It’s a good contract and we are all happy about how Chelsea have warmed up to him and made him feel very much at home.

“Everything is not all about money because Chelsea have really taken care of the player.”
