Valencia are the latest side to make an offer for Manchester United's Tom Cleverley, according to reports.

The much-maligned midfielder had also been linked an £8m move to Aston Villa this summer.

The 25-year-old came in for plenty of criticism last season as the then-champions Manchester United finished a woeful seventh place in the Premier League.

Reports yesterday suggested that Cleverley, who has won 13 caps for England, was the subject of a bid from fellow Premier League side Villa.

In an interview back in February, Cleverley had hinted that his style was more suited to Spain.

"I watch Spanish football a lot. If they pass the ball sideways but keep possession, the fans clap them," he told the Daily Mirror.

Cleverley has reportedly been told by manager Louis van Gaal that he is one of the players who will be allowed to leave the club before the close of the transfer window on Monday.
