Crystal Palace must reduce their asking price for Wilfried Zaha or risk scaring suitors away, according to the Daily Star.

Zaha revealed last week that he wants to leave Palace for Champions League football in order to test himself at the highest level, but having signed a new contract only last summer the Ivorian international has very little leverage.

With four years remaining on his contract, the Eagles are in a strong position to demand a big fee for Zaha but it is putting off Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United - according to the Star.

The Independent looked at who might win the race for the versatile forward and found very few clubs in a position to spend the £75m asking price.

Roy Hodgson said that he believes the player will remain at Selhurst Park, setting up an interesting summer in SE25.

There might be an opening for Zaha at Manchester City if Riyad Mahrez gets his way.

The Algerian winger has been complaining privately for some time now about a lack of game time and those chunterings have leaked public now.

Pep Guardiola is in no mood to talk transfers though, and said yesterday in his press conference that Mahrez would be staying at the club.

Chelsea are set to offer wantaway winger Callum Hudson-Odoi a new contract after his season-ending injury.

It is now almost certain that the England youngster will need surgery after the injury that he sustained against Burnley on Monday night.

Hudson-Odoi asked to leave the club in January, with Bayern Munich tabling a number of bids, but the Blues stood firm. Now they hope a new contract offer in the immediate aftermath of a serious injury will show their commitment to the player.

Arsenal's long-mooted move for Gabriel Martinelli appears to be nearing completion.

Reports in the youngster's native Brazil suggest that the deal will be done once Martinelli has acquired an EU passport through his Italian roots.

Gennaro Gattuso has been linked with Newcastle in Gazzetta dello Sport. The Milan coach, who made his name as an all-action midfielder, is being mentioned as a replacement for Rafael Benitez if the Spaniard doesn't sign a new deal on Tyneside.

Benitez is seeking greater control over budgets before committing his future to the Magpies.

Meanwhile, Stoke City want £30m for Jack Butland, reports the Mail. The Potters held onto the England keeper hoping to bounce back immediately from relegation but having found themselves marooned in the Championship there is now an appreciation that they will have to sell the shotstopper as he enters his prime.

Kieran Trippier, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Thomas Meunier are all right-backs being considered by Manchester United this summer, with Meunier the cheapest and easiest deal to do.
