Arsenal have reportedly made an offer for teenage sensation Sardar Azmoun as the Rubin Kazan continues to attract interest from a host of clubs across Europe.
The 19-year-old, nicknamed the ‘Iranian Lionel Messi’, has impressed in his handful of appearances for Rubin this season and is spoken of as one of the brightest young talents the Russian Premier League has to offer.
Italian’s AC Milan and Juventus have both been linked with a move for the Iran Under-20 international, but reports in Russia claim the Gunners have deemed the time right to make their move for Azmoun.
The striker would command around £2m to prise him away from the Kazan Arena, and he has previously spoken of his “dream to play for a club like Arsenal.
Arsenal’s problems in attack have been well documented this season, with Olivier Giroud receiving very little help from understudy’s Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo. However, Azmoun would certainly be a signing for the future and is unlikely to appease Gunners’ supporters who were left bemused by the club’s failure to sign a striker in January.
Azmoun only joined Kazan in 2013 from Iranian Pro League side Sepahan Isfahan, but it appears it will not be long before he is on the move once again.
