Barcelona have opened the door for Manchester United and Arsenal to sign Cesc Fabregas if either club is willing to pay a transfer fee of £45million.

The Spanish giants, who just missed out on the La Liga title last weekend, are planning a major overhaul this summer and will sell some of their best players should the right offers come in.

As well as Fabregas, the club will look to possible transfers of Alexis Sanchez, Javier Mascherano, Daniel Alves, Pedro and Cristian Tello to generate funds for pending changes if good offers are made, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

United attempted to sign Fabregas last year but failed, with the 27-year-old wanting to stay at the Nou Camp but now a signing may be more simple.

The news will have Arsenal on alert too. Fabregas left the Gunners to join Barcelona in 2011 for a fee of £35million, but Arsene Wenger was allegedly interested in bringing him back to the Emirates.

In other news coming out of United, midfielder Shinji Kagawa is unlikely to leave the club this summer.

His agent, Thomas Kroth, said: "Shinji will play the World Cup now and then see what the new Manchester United manager's plans are. Right now, it is rather unlikely that he will leave the club in the summer."
