Transfer news: Chelsea reject interest from Arsenal and Tottenham for striker Demba Ba - reports

Both Arsenal and Tottenham have approached Chelsea about the availability of Demba Ba - but the pair have been rejected.

According to Sky Sports, the Blues do not want to see the Senegal international move to one of their rivals, however, an approach from an un-named Premier League club for a season-long loan deal has been accepted.

It's understood the club in question is not involved in the Champions League which could prove problematic with Ba eager to play in Europe's top competition.

Chelsea are willing to allow the Senegal international out on loan for the season following the arrival of Samuel Eto'o.

The striker's former club Newcastle are believed to be interested in the 28-year-old, while another one of his former clubs, West Ham, have also been linked. The possibility of a move to Roma has also been mentioned.

Chelsea may prefer to allow the striker to move abroad rather than switch to a Premier League rival, but with the deadline looming, Jose Mourinho will be keen to offload Ba to reduce the wage bill at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal have so far been frustrated in their attempts to make a major signing this summer, and with a lack of attacking options, a move for Ba could provide a season-long fix for Arsene Wenger's side.

Spurs have already signed Roberto Soldado this summer but there are question marks over their other attacking options Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor, who have both been linked with moves away.
