Newcastle's director of football Joe Kinnear is reportedly expected in Germany as his side try to secure a swap deal for Luuk de Jong involving Papiss Cisse.

De Jong is said to be Newcastle's prime January target as the club looks to improve it's strikeforce in the transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker was reportedly a target of the club last summer but opted to join Borussia Monchengladbach when leaving FC Twente.

However now he has reportedly issued a 'come and get me' plea to the Magpies who are said to be considering offering Senegal striker Cisse as part of the deal.

However it is thought that Cisse is keen to stay at St James' Park and fight for his place following a startling loss of form in recent months.

The prospect of a loan move for De Jong is also reportedly being discussed by Kinnear as he looks to secure the Dutch international's services.
