Norwegian manager linked with vacant Premier League jobs

Former Manchester United striker, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, could be on his way back to England after his current club Molde confirmed enquiries had been made into the availabilty of their manager.

The Norwegian has been linked with managerial vacancies in the past and is now rumoured to be in line for a vacant Premier League job.

Solskjaer has enjoyed great success since taking over at Molde in 2011, winning the league twice as well as beating Rosenborg last month to claim the Norwegian Cup.

With both Tottenham and West Brom managerless after the spate of recent sackings, the 40-year-old may soon be testing his skills at a much higher level.

Molde managing director Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen has admitted that several clubs were keen to speak to his manager.

"I can confirm that we have received formal requests, but will not say when they arrived or where they came from," Jacobsen told Norwegian newspaper Romsdals Budstikke.

"Ole has a name and a location that will always make him attractive. And he has a standing in England that makes him often be a candidate there."

Solskjaer's contract with the club runs until midway through next year and Jacobsen confirmed that the pair had discussed his possible exit from the club.

"We asked for a clarification before Christmas," he added. "We talk daily, but do not [know] yet when this will be settled.

"We are aware that there is a possible scenario [where Solskjaer leaves the club].

"Ole has won three titles in three years in Molde. It is obvious that this can be good timing for him if he wants to further his career."
