Southampton have confirmed that striker Dani Osvaldo has joined Juventus on loan until the end of the season, with the Italian club having an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
The Italian international, who joined Southampton form Roma for a club-record £15m over the summer, is currently suspended by the club after a training ground fight with his team-mate, the defender Jose Fonte earlier this month. Osvaldo was also fined £40,000 and banned for three matches for his part in a touch line fracas in the match against Newcastle United on 14 December.
In total, the 28-year-old scored three goals in 12 appearances for the south coast club.
A club statement read: "The striker moves back to Italy for the next four months with the option of a permanent transfer in the summer.
"Osvaldo departs St Mary’s having been suspended by the Club following a disciplinary incident at the training ground last week."
Osvaldo told Juventus's offical website: "I'm very happy. It's all been a bit of a whirlwind and I still can't quite believe it but I'm happy.
"It was pleasing when I first heard of Juventus' interest in me.
"When everything was completed last night I sat down and I couldn't believe it.
"As I said before, it's been a pretty hectic three or four days but I'm happy."
Osvaldo's departure is the last bit of transfer activity expected at St Mary's before the deadline, with Jason Puncheon's loan move to Crystal Palace made permanent earlier.
