Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering letting Ettiene Capoue go for a £1.5m loss, just six months after signing him from Toulouse.

According to Italian media, Rafael Benitez's Napoli have made an offer of £7.5m for the French midfielder, who cost Spurs around £9m in the summer.

Capoue failed to establish himself as a first-team regular under Andre Villas-Boas and under Tim Sherwood he has slipped further down the pecking order, particularly following the emergence of Nabil Bentaleb.

Benitez has reportedly been pursuing a number of midfielders this January, including Porto's Fernando, Chelsea's Juan Mata and Man City's Javi Garcia.

However it remains to be seen whether Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will sanction a move for Capoue for a loss so soon after his arrival at the club.
