Gareth Bale has been removed from Tottenham's official Twitter account page in a move will only intensify speculation over his future.

The Wales international appears set for a move to Real Madrid this summer with the two clubs locked in negotiations over a transfer that could break the world record fee paid for Cristiano Ronaldo.

As well as Bale, Clint Dempsey has also been removed from the page, owing to his switch to the Seattle Sounders.

In their place, Moussa Dembele and Aaron Lennon now occupy the page which is followed by over half-a-million people.

That Bale is Spurs' most marketable and recognisable player only makes his removal from the @SpursOfficial page more significant.
