Wanderer Robinson joins Leeds on loan

Leeds United have signed the Bolton defender Paul Robinson on loan. The 33-year-old left-back has agreed a short-term deal until 9 April.

The Leeds manager, Neil Warnock, who was appointed last month, said yesterday: "I've been looking to see if I can get one or two leaders in. Paul is a player who I have had my eye on for a couple of weeks – since I came in – but for whatever reason we just couldn't quite get it over the line.

"Now we've been able to do that I'm delighted. This is a great club for him and it gives us a chance to have a look at him with a view to next season."

Doncaster Rovers have secured the services of the West Ham United striker Frédéric Piquionne on loan. The 33-year-old French forward has joined Rovers initially for a month but could stay longer if the move suits both parties. Piquionne has made 21 first-team appearances for the Hammers this season but recently lost his place in Sam Allardyce's starting line-up.

The striker reportedly rejected offers to join Fulham and Sunderland in January but has now enlisted for Doncaster's battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.

He said: "I have been involved in scraps like this before at some of my previous clubs and I'm ready. In my head I'm a warrior and I will fight to keep Doncaster in the Championship."

Sheffield United have completed the double loan signing of Matt Hill from Blackpool and John Egan from Sunderland.

The versatile Hill has penned a deal until the end of the season, while Egan has agreed a month-long stay with the Blades, who were down on numbers defensively until the pair's arrival.

Hill has struggled to force his way into the Tangerines' starting line-up this term, making just five appearances for Ian Holloway's men, while Egan spent time out on loan at Crystal Palace earlier in the campaign.

Leyton Orient have signed the Leeds goalkeeper Paul Rachubka on a one-month loan deal. Rachubka fell out of favour at his parent club following the 5-0 home defeat to Blackpool in November and has since spent two months at Tranmere Rovers. The former England Under-20 is the fourth goalkeeper Orient manager Russell Slade has brought in this season.
