After losing to Swansea at Old Trafford at the weekend, Manchester United look set to ramp up their efforts to sign new players before the transfer window closes. Argentinian Marcos Rojo could be the latest addition to the Red Devils after the Sporting Lisbon defender told a radio show that playing for United would be a dream come true.

United will also push ahead with plans to sign Angel Di Maria, with the club expecting to spend £50m on the Real Madrid player.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are still hopeful of signing Radamel Falcao from Monaco. The Colombian has been the club's main summer target following the departure of former star player Luis Suarez.

Daniel Agger’s future at Liverpool remains in doubt. Agger said he wants to leave the Reds this summer and Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are interested in the defender.

Another club that got off to a losing start at the weekend was QPR manager Harry Redknapp is hooing to sign two more players. Eduardo Vargas is due to have a medical on Wednesday ahead of a season-long loan from Napoli while the West London team is closing in on the signing of Leroy Fer from Norwich for £7m.
