Croatia World Cup profile

Croatia were fancied dark horses at the beginning of the tournament, and good performances from Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and the whole team has turned the 20th ranked side in the world into quite a fancied team.

They made light work of Nigeria and Argentina then drew to Iceland to seal qualification as Group D's top team.

In Croatia's way of a place in the quarter final is Denmark who have reached the round of 16 for the fourth time in their five World Cups. Christian Eriksen and co eased past Peru then drew with Australia and France to book their place in the first knockout round.

When is it?

Croatia vs Denmark is on Sunday 1 July and kicks off at 19:00 at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium

Where can I watch it?

The round of 16 matches are yet to be divided between ITV and BBC, but one of the broadcasters will be showing full live coverage.

Croatia and Denmark have shared results between them over the years and have never met each other at an international tournament.

The midfield battle promises to be intriguing with Real Madird's Luka Modric and Barcelona's Rakitic battle to control the middle of the pitch against Denmark and Tottenham sensation Eriksen.
