Nevin Yanit, the European 100m hurdles champion, has been banned for two years for doping by the Turkish Athletics Federation.

Yanit, who won the European title in 2010 and 2012, tested positive in Düsseldorf, Germany, in February. The case against the Olympic 1500m champion Asli Cakir Alptekin, who was also accused of doping, is still being assessed.

Meanwhile, the Russian Federation says the shot-putter Anna Avdeyeva has been suspended for two years. The 2011 European indoor champion tested positive for the banned substance Oral Turinabol in July.
