Canelo vs Danny Jacobs press conference LA

Canelo Alvarez will attempt to add the IBF world middleweight title when he fights Daniel Jacobs in Las Vegas this weekend.

There will be plenty on the line - including three world titles - when the two go toe to toe at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

WBA and WBC world champion Canelo returns to his favoured weight after going up to sweep Great Britain's Rocky Fielding aside last time out.

Jacobs claimed the IBF strap after beating Serhiy Derevianchenko in his last fight and puts it straight on the line against one of the best pound for pound fighters on the planet.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Odds

Canelo to win: 4/11

Jacobs to win: 9/2

Draw: 22/1

Prediction

It's an even contest but Canelo should have the class to see him through this one.

Expect the Mexican's savage body punching to eventually break Jacobs down in what should be an entertaining clash of styles.

It should go the distance but don't rule out a late stoppage.

When and where is the fight?

The fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, 4th May. The arena is something of a home for Canelo – and will be even more so considering the bout is on Cinco de Mayo weekend.

What time will the ring walks be?

As this one is in Vegas, expect it to be no earlier than 4.30am – possibly even 5am.

What’s at stake and what are their records?

Canelo puts up his WBA (Super), WBC, The Ring and lineal titles, while Jacobs offers his IBF strap. A proper unifying fight.

Canelo’s record is an absurd one, he’s been fighting professionally since the age of 15(!) and has become the biggest star of the sport. He comes in with a record of 54 fights, 51 wins, two draws and just one defeat to the legendary Floyd Mayweather.

Jacobs, meanwhile, has fought 37 times in his professional career with 35 wins and two defeats.

What is the full fight schedule?

Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Mauricio Herrera

Pablo Cesar Cano vs Michael Perez

Lamont Roach Jr vs Jonathan Oquendo

Joseph Diaz vs Freddy Fonseca

Sadam Ali vs Anthony Young

John Ryder vs Bilal Akkawy

Alexis Espino vs Billy Wagner

How can I watch it?

It’ll be live on DAZN as that’s who both fighters are with – and in the UK it’ll be shown on Sky Sports, so if you’re a subscriber you get this one as part of your package.

Subscribers will also be able to live stream the fight via Sky Go.
